According to Uber, travelers arriving at MCO should expect longer waits than any other airport in Florida.

A recent change prompted by the City of Orlando is causing pickup delays for both airline and Brightline passengers.

The Jam:
Uber drivers are now required to gather in a single parking lot on airport property for pickups, creating a chaotic traffic situation. The issue gained attention during the Thanksgiving travel period when drivers were found parking illegally on the main entrance roads leading to the terminal, prompting action from the Orlando Police Department.

Uber confirmed that its driver app now permits drivers to enter the in-app virtual rider pickup queue only when physically located in the North or South Transportation Network Company (TNC) lots on airport grounds. The limitation to these two lots has led to overcrowding in the North TNC lot, especially since cell phone reception is poor in the South TNC lot. The North TNC lot is now experiencing significant congestion, causing delays for both drivers entering and exiting.
